Questions & answers

Does BatterySnap drain the battery?
No. The widget refreshes only when battery state changes, or once every 30 minutes. The detailed view refreshes once per minute while open. Overhead is negligible.
Why are estimates wrong at first?
Estimates need a few hours of normal use (charge + discharge cycle) to calibrate. Other readings — voltage, temperature, health — are correct immediately after activation.
Has this app really been around since 2009?
Yes. BatterySnap shipped on Android Market in 2009, making it one of the oldest battery widgets still maintained on the Play Store. Treat the icon as a small monument.
What does Xtra add?
BatterySnap Xtra is a companion add-on with extra widget styles — icon-only and text-only variants in more sizes. See the Xtra page.
How do I set up continuous real-time battery sharing?
Real-time sharing pairs two phones, both running BatterySnap. On the device you want to monitor: open Share current state → Display my share code — BatterySnap shows a 6-digit code. On the other phone: open Share current state → Add a monitored device, and enter that code. The phone that entered the code now sees the other in its Monitored devices list with live charge level, status and remaining time. Either side can Revoke at any time. Only battery state is exchanged — no location, contacts, or other data.
Why are my graphs choppy on Android 6+?
Android aggressively pauses background apps. For continuous, gap-free graphs, exempt BatterySnap from battery optimization in Settings → Apps → BatterySnap → Battery → Don't optimize. Two taps, lifetime of clean data.
Where's BatterySnap Alerts?
BatterySnap Alerts is a separate companion app for charge / discharge threshold alerts. It collects no data. Privacy.
